End of Night Mountain Ops
The last shift of night ops was awesome, as usual. The crowds were out and happy!
The snow is so deep this winter, we have to maintain the areas under the lifts so peoples' gear doesn't drag.

Snowy winter at Alyeska Resort
There have been a lot of snowy days lately. Here is Cody, Jen and I riding up lift 4 last week.
Garrett, holding the bad tach band that was caught before opening by Matt and Michael this morning.
Nate and Kris did a lot of shoveling at the top of lift 4 today.
Karl, with the green cat, about 15 minutes before opening.
Neil did quite a bit of super scooping to get the top of 6 ready for opening.
Kelly and I on our way up 6 to enjoy the quick "Citation" (the first part of the High Traverse) opening.
The conditions were great on the North Face today.

More Media Coverage of Downhill Biking at Alyeska
Opening the mountain to tram accessed downhill biking has been quite a big deal! Check out this video and article from the Anchorage Daily News. I have to add, for the record, that Karl's last name is Mittlestadt. The video is 8 minutes long, but it is worth it. You might be surprised where the trail goes at about minute 5.

Surprise Pow Afternoon
It snowed 4-6" this morning, then cleared in the afternoon. Karl came out and groomed race trail for tonight's town league races.
While skiing with friend (and former lifty/ trammy) Sarah, we ran into Katie and Sam from night crew.
The sunset was amazing.
It was fun to get out for some runs with my friend, and the conditions were superb.
