There are 2 weekends of night operations left; Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday until March 28th!

Winter at Alyeska Resort

Winter has finally made its way to Alyeska Resort, and we couldn't be happier!  From the Magic Carpets in the base area to the top of Glacier Bowl Express, skiing and snowboarding is on!

Learn to Ski and Snowboard month has been extended through February; and it is such a great deal!

Another great special is the ski free midweek when you stay at the hotel package.

End of Summer at Alyeska Resort

It's been a while since I've posted here, and wanted to catch up.

Downhill biking has been going GREAT this summer! We've been far busier than the first and second season.  The trails are good, the weather has ben better than normal, and people are pumped to ride.

There have been some muddy/ rainy days, but the bikers are still ready to rally!

Berry picking in Girdwood valley was great this summer! So thankful for all the beautiful days we had this summer!

Lift Operations and Maintenance Workshop at Alyeska Resort

Jimmy Lawerence (MountainGuard Insurance Programs) and Sid Roslund (National Ski Area Assoc, Committee Administrator) were the presenters for the 2 day program.

Folks from ski areas all over Alaska were in attendance.

Hilltop represents during the Tram motor room tour.

The Kahiltna Court was a really nice venue for the event.

Topics included were: History of the ANSI B77 Standard, What's new in the 2011 Standard, Record keeping, OSHA, Disaster at the Lift, What's Hot and What's Not in Lift Operations and Lift Maintenance, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Employee of the Quarter Luncheon

Doug Christensen (President of ARMCO) addresses all of the Employee of the Quarter recipients and their supervisors.  There were a lot of great employees honored today.  And the lunch was awesome!

 Dave (Tram supervisor) picked Clayton for the EOQ.

 Michael was choosen from Lift Ops.  We took a moment to pose outside after lunch.

Spring Tram Training

Tram training is today and tomorrow. Rope evacuation is one of the most interesting parts.

Most of the tram crew and some of the lift crew were present for the training.

And, oh yeah, spring has sprung around the hotel and the crocus are starting to bloom.

Shoulder Season

Do you think the snow on the mountaintops is here to stay? I love this time of the year; I guess the anticipation of future winter fun is in itself enjoyable.

Grounds crew was hard at work on Saturday, clearing out a spot next to the tram base for summer stage set-up.
It was a nice weekend to enjoy the "slow" season at Alyeska Resort.

Spring Carnival at Alyeska 2010

Midweek Mellow

There have been a couple of moose hanging out in the Challenge/ BCQ area. Pictured below, one of them standing around near the bottom of the terrain park.
