Spring Carnival at Alyeska 2010

For more info on this weekend's Spring Carnival at Alyeska, click here. It is going to be a lot of fun, with some great events planned, most are free (to watch). Hope to see you here! The weather is supposed to be nice; don't forget the sunscreen.

Excellent Day

There was SO MUCH snow this morning and it kept snowing all day. Check out how high the snow is under the tram. Compare to the summer view.
I'm pretty sure anyone that was at Alyeska riding or skiing had a good day today.

Midweek Mellow

The groomers were great today!

I spent a bunch of time in the office this afternoon, but I managed to get out for one more inspection lap at the end of the day. I followed Rob, from lift maintenance, and Danny K. joined up with us as well (he was behind me).

TGIF

The employee of the quarter luncheon was at Seven Glaciers today. I picked Joe and Chris choose Sarah, and Walt choose me as the mountain supervisor of the quarter. It was a good lunch will a lot of great people.

The light was still good when we skied down just after 4:30.
The clouds were thick in the valley, but the views at the mid and upper mountain levels were spectacular!

Seven Glaciers will be open Fridays and Saturdays until October 17. The tram will be running daily until October 18 (last tram down 6:15pm).
Oktoberfest is at the Daylodge Friday and Saturday night this weekend, hope to see you there!

There was another coat of snow at the head of the valley today. I wonder if this is it, and winter is on?

A black bear, right under the tram today. He was actually hanging out under the mid span for most of the afternoon.
There are still plenty of berries to pick (shhhhh, don't tell anyone).

Snow, NF Trail & Dirt Work

If you look closely, you can see fresh snow!
Yesterday morning, the trail crew is hard at work on the NF hiking trail, which officially opens August 1st.
