Summer Bike Ops is Hiring

Summer bike ops is in its 8th summer, and we have a great crew!


We have bike instructor for all ages.


So many good vibes during summer ops.


We are looking for a few more people so we can open an additional lift in early August.

Apply here to join our crew. Shifts are Friday-Sunday (+Labor Day), 11-7 through Sept. 9th.

Great Summer at Alyeska!

There are only 2 weekends left of lift accessed downhill biking at Alyeska!  Labor day will be the final day of operations.

We had a great crew this summer of experienced lift operators (Top L to R: Brett, Kjetil, Todd, Doug, Middle row is Cheyenne, and Chris and Kate in the front)

We enjoyed quite a bit of good weather for the first 2 months of operations!  There has been some rain lately, but the forecast for this weekend is great.  Pictured here: bikes and bikers getting ready to unload at the top of Ted's Express.

And, of course since this is Alaska, we had occasional wildlife visitors as well.

The downhill biking season is about to begin at Alyeska Resort!  We have trails for all abilities, and lessons & tours are also available. The weather has been great so far this summer, and we're hoping for more of the same. Fri-Sun, noon-6.

Downhill Biking at Alyeska Resort 2014

The downhill biking season has begun at Alyeska Resort!  The lifts will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon-6pm through the end of September.  The Bike Hub is at the day lodge, where tickets and rentals can be purchased.  Ask about lessons and tours!

End of Summer at Alyeska Resort

It's been a while since I've posted here, and wanted to catch up.

Downhill biking has been going GREAT this summer! We've been far busier than the first and second season.  The trails are good, the weather has ben better than normal, and people are pumped to ride.

There have been some muddy/ rainy days, but the bikers are still ready to rally!

Berry picking in Girdwood valley was great this summer! So thankful for all the beautiful days we had this summer!

Summer Lift Rope Evac Training

Ben (5th from left), from Patrol, ran the lift ops through some rope evac training last week.

They've got a pretty cool "gun" they use to get the initial rope up and over the haul rope.

The weather could not have been any better.

Here is the team getting the rope in place.

Getting the rope flipped over the grip requires some finesse.

We then ran through the procedure with the lift ops on line.

Meet some of the Summer Crew members

Tony has worked in various departments (tram, events, lift ops) for almost a year now.

Cheyenne has worked lift ops for about 5 years now; and has worked at the tram, Spa at Alyeska, and Tramway cafe as well. She gives an awesome pedi!

Austin is the winter night lift ops supervisor, and enjoys camping in the freezing cold on mountain tops.

Ali has rocked lift ops with her great attitude and giggles for almost a year now.

Foz has been on lift ops for 3 years, and enjoys "living the dream,"

Jeff G. has been on lift maintenance for about 15 years and can tell you more than you'd ever want to know about most lifts, but especially lift 6.

Thanks to all the awesome employees and gung-ho guests for getting after it this summer!  I see next summer as being even better, and busier.
